A Partnership Approach to address Local Priorities

We will meet with the local Service District Manager, other statutory, voluntary and community sector partners, and with young people, to agree local priorities and deliver a flexible response to the needs of young people and their communities.

Our current priorities for work with young people in Hillsborough and Upper Don include:

  • raising attainment in schools and increasing progression to positive outcomes at 16
  • reducing the number of ‘NEET’ young people (not in education employment or training)
  • engaging young people in positive activities and accrediting their learning
  • addressing issues of drugs, crime, racism
  • working with young people on the streets through detached youth work
  • targeting those at risk of involvement in crime and antisocial behaviour
  • Voice and Influence projects and consultation with young people
  • support for vulnerable groups including Looked After Children
